Conceived at the dawn of the digital dive watch, these rare SEIKO Scuba's were produced for a mere 18 months in the early 90's and sold to the Japanese Domestic Market only. The S800 module features a Dive Timer function with dive alert alarm, as well as the usual digital features you would expect, like chronograph and alarm. With the S800 there's no need to race the setting sun; at the push of a button the backlit display transforms into a bright neon blue reminiscent of nighttime in downtown Tokyo or Miami, ensuring maximum legibility in the dark. This JDM hidden gem is perfect as a less expensive, yet legitimately interesting companion to a more expensive collection, or as a standalone piece.
The ‘Grape’ colourway as seen here is particularly vibrant. Not quite blue - it’s a colourway not often seen in the watchsphere - even when considering the smorgasboard of vibrant digital offerings from other manufacturers. This piece benefits from a recent electronic clean and fresh SEIKO battery, keeps great time and all features work well.
Gasket replacement and pressure testing is available for this model on request, to ensure water resistance if required.
